2021 SHIVER FOR THE SHELTER Golf Tournament, presented by Slimbo Events. This unique and very popular event will be contested on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Arcadian Shores Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, SC.
The purpose of the tournament is to benefit the animals housed at The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. The spirit of this event is intended to supplement the food supply of the shelter and the fellowship and camaraderie strongly outweigh the competitive nature of the tournament. The Entry Fee is 100 pounds of CAT LITTER, PUPPY FOOD, or KITTEN FOOD (in any combination equaling 100 lbs.) per player and a $30 per player registration fee.
With such a minimal entry fee being charged, the committee must seek outside funding to offset the course fees and expenses. Attached you will find our various sponsorship opportunities. Please review the options and consider what will best fit your level of support. Additionally, we will hold a drawing for prizes including hotel stays, trips, spa packages, food and beverage certificates, golf certificates, and a host of other items. With that in mind, we are asking that you consider making a donation, either in the form of prizes or monetarily to help with expenses. We realize that you receive many requests for assistance throughout the year, but we would ask that you give this event special consideration, as challenging times like these pose difficulties for all charities as resources are scarce. We all know the impact of our family pets on our lives. Equally important are the orphaned animals housed at our local Humane Society. Your support of this event is a small way of giving those unfortunate animals one more chance of finding a healthy and happy future.
This event is limited to competitors who have a love for animals and a passion for golf. The 2019 event generated SIX TONS of food for the animals and over the years has brought in OVER 129 tons of food and litter for the shelter.
