The S.E.A. (Saving Exceptional Animals ) program provides a convenient way for North Myrtle Beach residents to assist HSNMB in caring for abandoned, lost, unwanted, and abused animals in our area. It is a collaboration with the water department that allows local North Myrtle Beach residents to include a donation to The Humane Society in their monthly statement. Thus far, our generous neighbors have helped save almost 3000 animals. The Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and, of course, our “exceptional” animals are very grateful.
The weekly requirements for the shelter include 700 pounds of dog food, 200 pounds of puppy food, 2100 pounds of cat food, 70 pounds of kitten food, and 1100 pounds of kitty litter. In addition, we need cleaning supplies, medicines, office materials, paper goods, etc. Donations also help fund community outreach programs providing pet responsibility programs for schools and senior facilities pet visits. (We are recognized by the IRS as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and contributions are tax deductible by law.)
