Then came Jo and her family. They weren’t intending on adopting, but Lexi’s face kept popping up on social media, and they decided to come meet her.
Jo says, “When we came to meet her, she was a little shy, but very talkative. We brought her home, and slowly but surely, she made herself at home with our other cats. And now, she’s the Queen! She’s not afraid to put the boys in their place and has even chased one a time or two! Lexi has claimed my husband’s recliner as her throne, sleeps on our beds, and spends quiet nights in my makeup chair—her favorite cozy spot in our master closet. I even have a special makeup brush I use just for her, and she adores being pampered with soft strokes across her face and ears. She’s learning to use our cat door to the screened porch, where she can safely soak up the sun and watch birds, squirrels, rabbits, and ducks. She’s incredibly talkative and expressive—we have daily conversations, though I think half the time she’s scolding me for being late with her meals! Lexi has brought so much joy and healing into our home. She was just what our grieving hearts needed.”
