Just before New Year’s Eve in December 2020, a tiny 4-month-old orange kitten named Herman arrived at the shelter and soon went into foster care while he waited for his forever family. Not long after, someone who had been hoping to add another ginger kitty to their home discovered him, and it was love at first sight.
Barbara and her family had recently moved back to North Myrtle Beach in 2020 and were excited to welcome another orange cat into their family. In January 2021, Barbara came across a photo of an absolutely gorgeous little kitten named Herman and instantly knew he was the one.
When the day came to meet him at the shelter, Barbara and her family were eager to finally see the kitten they had been thinking about. The moment Barbara saw him, her heart filled. She remembers laughing and asking almost immediately, “Can I take him now?” The employee could barely get him through the door before Barbara knew he belonged with her. The beautiful red kitten went home that day and was given his new name: Jax Lenox.
Now, five years later, Jax Lenox continues to bring joy to the household every single day. He joined another ginger cat named Wylie Memphis, and the two have made life endlessly fun, loving, and full of laughter.
Barbara says Jax is the most loving and well-natured cat they’ve ever had. He’s incredibly smart and loves watching birds and squirrels outside the window. Barbara says their lives have been truly blessed since the day Jax Lenox came home, and they are so grateful for the care and love he received before finding his forever family. He keeps them on their toes and fills their home with love and laughter every day.
