In January 2023, a big, goofy, lovable hound we called Zoomie walked through our doors, and true to his name, he brought energy, joy, and tail wags everywhere he went. He loved everyone he met, made instant friends with other dogs, and had that larger-than-life personality that could fill any room (and yard) with happiness.
By September 2023, Zoomie’s forever family found him at a festival in Barefoot, and that’s when his next chapter began. Now known as Copper, he met McKenna and Trey just after they had moved into their new home and were looking for a companion for their heeler. After their very first meet-up, the bond was undeniable… the kind you simply can’t separate. It was meant to be.
Since that day, Copper has filled their lives with endless cuddles, been responsible for plenty of zoomie-induced chaos, and created more funny, unforgettable moments than they could ever count. He’s been a steady, comforting presence through deployments, a loyal travel buddy on beach trips and even adventures to Massachusetts and New York.
Through every season, Copper has kept their family grounded in more ways than one. We are so incredibly thankful to McKenna and Trey for giving this sweet hound the life he deserved, and grateful they chose the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach to find him.
