Community Service Agreement


Rules and Requirements

  • Community Service hours are done in 4 hour shifts from 8:30am - 12:30pm
  • Shifts must be scheduled in advance with the Shelter Manager.
  • If you cannot make your scheduled shift or are running late, you must call the shelter as soon as possible. Should this be after hours, please leave a message on the Shelter's answering machine. No calls/ No shows will result in dismissal from the program.
  • Tank tops, short shorts, baggie pants and open-toed shoes are NOT PERMITTED.
  • You must be able to follow directions and clean cages to our standards.
  • Note: You will be cleaning cat/dog cages along with the Staff. This is the single most important task that is performed. If we do not clean properly, the health of our animals is compromised. You will be dismissed immediately should you not clean properly.
  • It is your responsibility to have time sheets filled out by the Staff. HSNMB Manager or Staff members will not be responsible for keeping up with your Service hours. 24 hours notice must be given to the Shelter Manager, should you need a letter on our company letterhead proving your service.
  • Cell Phones are strictly prohibited. Cell phone usage while working will result in immediate dismissal from our Program.

    I assume the risks of being bitten, scratched, injured, or frightened by cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies in connection with my volunteer work for The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. Neither the City of North Myrtle Beach nor The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach is liable to me for any injuries, damages, liabilities, losses, judgments, costs, or expenses whatsoever that I might suffer or sustain in connection with the performance of my volunteer activities for The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach.

    I will indemnify, defend, and hold The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach harmless from and against any claims, lawsuits, injuries, damages, losses, costs, or expense whatsoever sustained by any companion animal or any person in connection with my intentional misconduct or grossly negligent performance of volunteer activities for The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach or my breach of The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach's rules, regulations, policies, and programs.
