I adopted Velveteen back in the beginning of February 2013. She has grown so much and adapted so well since I first adopted her. She is such a sweetheart and very loving and mild tempered. I already had another cat before adopting her and the two of them have become great friends/sisters over the years. Velveteen is such a great pet and I’m so glad I have her. It’s kind of a funny story because I feel like she actually chose me at the shelter. I was looking for a solid black cat that I had seen at the local Petco and I was unable to locate him so I decided to look around and check out the other cats there. I was at the very last of the cages and I was looking at another cat when all of the sudden I felt a little paw and nails on my shoulder so I turned around and there she was, a beautiful little solid black cat. I picked her up and she just grabbed onto me with both paws, nails and all…lol so I said “she’s the one”! I had to leave her and go visit her for a few days until she had her surgery and then she finally got to come to her forever home. I love my sweet Velveteen so much and can’t wait to spend many more years with her.
